Manaqada according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

Lexically: invalidating one of the two words by the other. As a term: barring a determined premise of the argument’s premises; a condition of the contradiction is the premise being neither of the firsts nor the granted, barring it not permitted; if of the experimental, intuitive or mutawatir, barring it permitted, it being no argument for another.

Manaqada according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)
