Definition Muthallath

Muthallath according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

He whose two-thirds flowed by nature, of grape-water, raisin or date water, a third remaining: so long sweet, pure and lawful to drink; boiled and thickened, likewise, for food’s continuing, piety and remedy without diversion; inebriation thereof not lawful. Mouhammad said: « unlawful in itself, bounded in little as much ».

Muthallath according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

In geometry’s terminology: the surface enclosed by three straight lines. It divides sometimes by the sides’ regard, sometimes by the angle’s. By the sides’ regard: three kinds: equilateral, isosceles, scalene.

Muthallath according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

He whose third is liquid.

Muthallath according to Maqalid al-'Ulum (As-Suyuti)

He whom it follows.

Muthallath according to At-Ta'rifat al-Fiqhiyya (Al-Barkati)
