📖 1 min readQiyam al-layl’s principle: applying to night-occupation by prayer without other; likewise applied to occupation by obedience: recitation, glorification and like. Qiyam al-layl may be preceded by sleep after the ’isha prayer, or not; as for tahajjud, it is only after sleep. Note: from the faqihs’ speech is drawn that qiyam al-layl need not absorb most of the night: realized by rising an hour; the night’s act is prayer without other; they also apply qiyam al-layl to keeping the night alive. In Maraqi al-Falah: qiyam’s meaning: occupying most of the night in obedience; said: an hour, reading the Quran, hearing hadith, glorifying or praying upon the Prophet.
It is the night prayer.
