📖 1 min readOne part of the forty-six parts of prophethood; at-Tirmidhi related it in the chapter of what is transmitted concerning the vision of the Prophet, peace and salutation upon him, in sleep; that is because the duration of revelation to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings upon him, was thirty-three years, of which six months at the beginning were in sleep; and by halving it becomes forty-six and a half years, so that the vision, which is six months, is one part of it. The exacting scholar, our master 'Isam ad-Din, may Allah the Exalted have mercy on him, said in Sharh ash-Shama'il: he made the vision a part of prophethood, meaning that it corresponds to what is a part of prophethood.
