Definition Saat

Saat according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

The bees: sa'a (saw'an): they scattered, one following another. The things: he separated them. The grain: he measured it with the sa'. As-sa': a vessel from which one drinks; masculine or feminine, the masculine being more eloquent; plurals: asw, suwan and si'an. A measure with which the animal, and the like, is measured. By the consensus of the scholars: four amdad (loads) (an-Nawawi). According to the Malikis, most of the Hanafis, the Shafi'is, the Hanbalis and the Zaydis: five Iraqi ratls and a third of a ratl. Abu Hanifa and Muhammad said: eight ratls. According to the People of the House and the Ja'fari school: nine ratls and a third.
