Sina'a according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

A psychic aptitude whence voluntary acts issue without reflection. Said: what touches the manner of acting.

Sina'a according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

Name of the craftsman’s trade and his craft-work; said: san’ahu yasn’uhou san’an and san’a: his work; as-san’: the act’s mastering, every san’ an act, every act not san’; any science man practices, argumentative or other, till like a trade, called sana’a. Said: as-san’a, with fatha, the act; sana’a applied to an aptitude whereby products employed with discernment reaching an aim of aims, by possibility. Craft differs sana’a: linguists holding it ordering the act per science’s established and its leading the aimed; hence the carpenter said san’’, the merchant not: they require not sana’a the person making it habitual. Jurists specify sana’a the craft she is employed in.

Sina'a according to Maqalid al-'Ulum (As-Suyuti)

A psychic aptitude whereby man may employ established things of a thing, toward an aim of aims, by a will issuing discernment, by the capacity reaching it.

Sina'a according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

A psychic aptitude whence voluntary acts issue without reflection. Said: the science touching the manner of acting (likewise in al-Jourjani’s Ta’rifat).
