Definition Tarkhim

Tarkhim according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

Deleting the name’s end for lightening.

Tarkhim according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

Lexically: slaughtering camels without illness. In grammarians’ terminology: deleting the name’s end without morphological cause: either pure lightening, as the called one; or poetic necessity demanding it: the first permitted, the second obligatory.
