Definition Tibb

Tibb according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

A science whereby health’s keeping and illness’s curing known: the oldest, weightiest of sciences; hence the Prophet set it before other sciences, related of him: science two: bodies’ science and religions’. The hadiths related of him on medicine uncounted, collections composed of them.

Tibb according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

(Ta three-lettered): a science whereby health’s keeping and the ill’s curing known: body and soul’s treatment.

Tibb according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

So-and-so, tibb and tibba: paying his dower, skilled. Of him, the ill and like: treating softly, gently. Of the thing: mending, perfecting it.

Tibb according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

A science whereby health’s keeping and illness’s curing known.

Tibb according to At-Ta'rifat al-Fiqhiyya (Al-Barkati)
