Definition Waba

Waba according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

With lengthening: general illness; land wabi’a, woubiyya, mawbou’a: its illnesses many.

A corruption reaching the air’s essence, for heavenly or earthly causes.

Waba according to Mu'jam Lughat al-Fuqaha

With waw fatha, verbal noun of wa’a’ and wabi’a, plural awbi’a: the illness spread and reaching many people, as smallpox and cholera and others. Al-wabr: with waw and ba fatha, of dabr with ba kasra, plural awbar: camels’ and hares’ hair, as wool for sheep.
