Definition Waal-raabiʿ

Waal-raabiʿ according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

The breadth divided into two directions, which is the surface. It is sometimes applied to that which is a lesser part of a thing, such as simple propositions in relation to compound propositions, and the simple in this sense is a relative simple. Fifthly: the expanded, meaning the spread-out like the vast earth. Sixthly: a meter among the poetic meters specific to the Arabs. Then, the spiritual simple, such as intellects and disembodied souls, and the corporeal, such as the elements.
