Definition of Skt

As-sukut: abstaining from speech.

A man sikkit and sakut: very silent.

It is used for one who is not mentioned.

The Almighty says: 'And when Moses's anger subsided' (Al-A'raf 154): when it calmed down.

As-sakta: the pause in recitation.

﴿وَلَمَّا سَكَتَ عَن مُّوسَى ٱلْغَضَبُ أَخَذَ ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ وَفِى نُسْخَتِهَا هُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِرَبِّهِمْ يَرْهَبُونَ﴾

And when the anger subsided in Moses, he took up the tablets; and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who are fearful of their Lord.
