Definition of Mṭā
At-Tamaṭṭy refers to extension.
The Almighty says: 'We have given them respite' (Maryam 75).
Maṭā means to extend.
Al-matā' is provision.
Tamaṭṭā means to enjoy a respite.

And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride].
