Definition of Trth

Allah says: 'And you consume the inheritance (al-turâth)' (Al-Fajr: 19).

Its origin is 'wirâth', from the verb 'waritha' (to inherit).

The tâ' replaces the wâw.

Inheritance refers to property transmitted from the dead to the living.

The Quran criticizes those who devour the inheritance of orphans and the weak.
