Definition of Ṣayf
As-sayf: the season opposite to winter.
The Almighty says: 'the journey of winter and summer' (Quraysh 2).
Arabs traded according to seasons: south in winter for warmth, north in summer for coolness.

﴿إِۦلَٰفِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيْفِ﴾
Their accustomed security [in] the caravan of winter and summer -
God and His angels shower their blessings on the Prophet. O believers, you should also send your blessings on him, and salute him with a worthy greeting.
