Definition of Saṭḥ

As-sath: the top of the house.

One says: I made a roof for the house, I flattened it.

The instrument for flattening is al-misataha.

The Almighty says: 'And the earth, how it has been spread out' (Al-Ghashiya 20), inviting reflection on the spreading of the earth.
