Definition of ʿḌd
Al-'adud: what is between the elbow and shoulder. 'Adadtuhu: I reached his arm.
The Almighty says: 'And We will strengthen your arm through your brother' (Al-Qasas 35), meaning We will support you through him.
I did not make them witness to the creation of the heavens and the earth or to the creation of themselves, and I would not have taken the misguiders as assistants.
[Allah] said, "We will strengthen your arm through your brother and grant you both supremacy so they will not reach you. [It will be] through Our signs; you and those who follow you will be the predominant."
