📖 2 min readThe best day on which the sun has risen is Friday, for on it Adam {peace be upon him} was created, and on it he was sent down, and on it he died, and on it he will be resurrected, and on it the Hour will be established. There is no creature except that it is frightened on Friday from the time of dawn until the sun rises, except for jinn and humans. And on it, there is an hour in which no Muslim servant encounters it while praying and asking Allah the Exalted for something except that He grants it to him. In the end of the hadith, Abdullah ibn Salam, may Allah be pleased with him, said: 'It is the last hour of Friday.' This is more general in terms of performing the prayer and waiting for it, as the Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Whoever sits in a gathering waiting for the prayer is in a state of prayer until he prays it.' The call to prayer during the time of the Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, was at the door of the mosque when he ascended to the pulpit. When he descended after the sermon, the prayer was established. The same was done during the time of Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them. When Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, was in power and the people increased and the houses became distant, and the aspirations decreased, he added another muezzin at his house, which is called Az-Zawra. When the Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, sat on the pulpit, the muezzin made the second call to prayer, which was the same as during the time of the Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. When he descended from the pulpit, the prayer was established. No one objected to Uthman's addition of the first call to prayer, because they knew it was part of the Sunnah, as the Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'You must follow my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the righteous caliphs after me.'
And especially when the need was severe at that time, blame was directed at those who intended to indulge in vain talk, as the sermon is worthy of being listened to with utmost attention and contemplation, in order to turn one's soul away from the worldly life and towards the Hereafter. The Prophet, may God's peace and blessings be upon him, said: {and left you}. That is, he preached until only twelve men remained. Jabir, may God be pleased with him, said: 'I was one of them.' This indicates the legitimacy of standing during the sermon, as stated in {qai'ma} (standing). Thus, two sermons are obligatory: one while standing, with a brief sitting in between. In both sermons, it is obligatory to praise God, the Exalted, to invoke blessings upon the Prophet, may God's peace and blessings be upon him, and to enjoin the fear of God. These three elements are obligatory in both sermons combined. Additionally, it is obligatory to recite a verse from the Quran in the first sermon and to supplicate for the believers in the second sermon. According to Ash-Shafi'i, may God be pleased with him, if any of these five elements are omitted, the sermon is invalid. The validity of the Friday prayer depends on five conditions: the time, which is the time of Dhuhr; the number of attendees, which is forty; the presence of an imam; the sermon; and the location, which must be a place of residence. If any of these conditions are not met, the Dhuhr prayer becomes obligatory. The sermon cannot begin until the imam has completed his preparations, and the presence of the required number of attendees is a condition that must be met until the end of the prayer. If some of the attendees disperse and then return without missing any of the essential elements of the prayer, it remains valid. Since this is an action of one whose aspiration has been diminished from listening to the words of truth from the Truth, the Prophet, may God's peace and blessings be upon him, ordered that they be admonished, warning them to return to their senses.

Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allah, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom - although they were before in clear error -
And [to] others of them who have not yet joined them. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
That is the bounty of Allah, which He gives to whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.
The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books]. Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
Say, "O you who are Jews, if you claim that you are allies of Allah, excluding the [other] people, then wish for death, if you should be truthful."
But they will not wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have put forth. And Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers.
Say, "Indeed, the death from which you flee - indeed, it will meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you about what you used to do."
O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.
And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allah, and remember Allah often that you may succeed.
But when they saw a transaction or a diversion, [O Muhammad], they rushed to it and left you standing. Say, "What is with Allah is better than diversion and than a transaction, and Allah is the best of providers."
