📖 1 min readThe All-Strong is one of the 99 beautiful names of Allah. Its meaning: The One whose strength is perfect and untouched by weakness.
To pronounce the name The All-Strong in Arabic, we say: Al-Qawi.
It is written in Arabic: القوي.
From the Arabic root ق-و-ي (q-w-y, strength), قَوِيّ (qawiyy) follows فَعِيل and denotes complete, inexhaustible strength without weakness.
The Name “The All-Strong” means: The One whose strength is perfect and untouched by weakness. It affirms a perfection belonging to Allah without defect, limit, or resemblance to creation. In al-Ghazali’s perspective, the believer never claims to share the divine attribute in its reality; instead, the Name gives an orientation suited to the condition of a servant.
Meditating on this Name calls the believer to renounce pride, struggle against the passions, and trust Allah's power rather than personal means. Knowledge of the Name thereby becomes worship, refinement of character, and trust in Allah alone.
