To pronounce the name The Fashioner in Arabic, we say: Al-Musawwir.
It is written in Arabic: المصور.
From the Arabic root ص-و-ر (s-w-r, form or image), مُصَوِّر (musawwir) is the Form II active participle مُفَعِّل, the one who gives each creature its form.
The Name “The Fashioner” means: The One who gives every creature its particular form. It affirms a perfection belonging to Allah without defect, limit, or resemblance to creation. In al-Ghazali’s perspective, the believer never claims to share the divine attribute in its reality; instead, the Name gives an orientation suited to the condition of a servant.
Meditating on this Name calls the believer to contemplate the wisdom of creation, respect every creature, and use one's abilities for good. Knowledge of the Name thereby becomes worship, refinement of character, and trust in Allah alone.
