From the Arabic root أ-م-ن (ʾ-m-n, safety and trust), مُؤْمِن (mu'min) is the Form IV active participle مُفْعِل, one who grants security and confirms truth.
The Name “The Giver of Faith and Security” means: The One who confirms truth and grants security to His servants. It affirms a perfection belonging to Allah without defect, limit, or resemblance to creation. In al-Ghazali’s perspective, the believer never claims to share the divine attribute in its reality; instead, the Name gives an orientation suited to the condition of a servant.
Meditating on this Name calls the believer to seek refuge in Allah, become trustworthy, and protect every right placed in one's care. Knowledge of the Name thereby becomes worship, refinement of character, and trust in Allah alone.
