📖 1 min readThe Most Appreciative is one of the 99 beautiful names of Allah. Its meaning: The One who rewards even small deeds with immense generosity.
To pronounce the name The Most Appreciative in Arabic, we say: Ash-Shakur.
It is written in Arabic: الشكور.
From the Arabic root ش-ك-ر (sh-k-r, gratitude and recompense), on the intensive pattern فَعُول (fa'ul), it denotes abundant reward for even small good deeds.
The Name “The Most Appreciative” means: The One who rewards even small deeds with immense generosity. It affirms a perfection belonging to Allah without defect, limit, or resemblance to creation. In al-Ghazali’s perspective, the believer never claims to share the divine attribute in its reality; instead, the Name gives an orientation suited to the condition of a servant.
Meditating on this Name calls the believer to give without display, recognize every blessing as coming from Allah, and serve creation generously. Knowledge of the Name thereby becomes worship, refinement of character, and trust in Allah alone.
