📖 1 min readThe Most Glorious is one of the 99 beautiful names of Allah. Its meaning: The One who combines perfect nobility, greatness, and generosity.
To pronounce the name The Most Glorious in Arabic, we say: Al-Majid.
It is written in Arabic: المجيد.
From the Arabic root م-ج-د (m-j-d, glory and nobility), مَجِيد (majid) follows فَعِيل and denotes abundant, perfect, and exalted glory.
The Name “The Most Glorious” means: The One who combines perfect nobility, greatness, and generosity. It affirms a perfection belonging to Allah without defect, limit, or resemblance to creation. In al-Ghazali’s perspective, the believer never claims to share the divine attribute in its reality; instead, the Name gives an orientation suited to the condition of a servant.
Meditating on this Name calls the believer to grow in reverence and humility, never ascribing to creation what belongs only to the Creator. Knowledge of the Name thereby becomes worship, refinement of character, and trust in Allah alone.
