To pronounce the name The Utterly Just in Arabic, we say: Al-'Adl.
It is written in Arabic: العدل.
From the Arabic root ع-د-ل ('-d-l, balance and justice), عَدْل ('adl) is a verbal noun used as an intensive attribute, denoting perfect justice.
The Name “The Utterly Just” means: The One who places everything rightly and never wrongs anyone. It affirms a perfection belonging to Allah without defect, limit, or resemblance to creation. In al-Ghazali’s perspective, the believer never claims to share the divine attribute in its reality; instead, the Name gives an orientation suited to the condition of a servant.
Meditating on this Name calls the believer to act fairly, restore rights, and begin by judging one's own conduct honestly. Knowledge of the Name thereby becomes worship, refinement of character, and trust in Allah alone.
