PronunciationInna li-llahi ma akhadha, wa lahu ma a'ta. Wa kullu shay'in 'indahu bi-ajalin musamma, fa-l-tasbir wa-l-tahtasib.
TranslationTo Allah belongs what He takes, and to Him what He gives; everything with Him has a fixed term: so let the afflicted be patient and hope for reward.

Arabic textوإن قال : أعظم الله أجرك ،وأحسن عزاءك وغفر لميتك فحسن
PronunciationWa in qala: a'zzama-llahu ajrak, wa ahsana 'aza'ak, wa ghafara li-mayyitik, fa-hussan.
TranslationAnd if the one offering condolences says: "May Allah amplify your reward, beautify your consolation and forgive your deceased": it is good.
