إذا كان جنح الليل – أو أمسيتم – فكفوا صبيانكم ؛ فإن الشياطين تنتشر حينئذ ، فإذا ذهب ساعة من الليل فخلوهم ،وأغلقوا الأبواب واذكروا اسم الله ؛ فإن الشيطان لا يفتح باباً مغلقاً ، وأوكوا قربكم واذكروا اسم الله ، وخمروا آنيتكم واذكروا اسم الله ، ولو أن تعرضوا عليها شيئاً ، وأطفئوا مصابيحكم

Pronunciation

Idha kana janha-l-layli — aw amsaytum — fakufu sibyanakum, fa-inna-sh-shayatina tantashiru hinidhin. Fa-idha dhahaba sa'atun mina-l-layli fa-khaluhum, wa-ghalliqu-l-abwaba wa-dhkuru-sma-llah, fa-inna-sh-shaytana la yaftahu baban mughlaqan, wa awku qirabakum wa-dhkuru-sma-llah, wa khammu awinatakum wa-dhkuru-sma-llah, wa law an taraw 'alayha shay'an, wa-utfiu masabihakum.

Translation

When night falls — or evening comes — hold back your children: the devils scatter at that time. When an hour of the night has passed, let them loose, close the doors and mention the name of Allah: the devil does not open a closed door; cover your vessels and mention the name of Allah, even by placing something upon them; and put out your lamps.
