The hadith collections dedicated whole chapters to the merits of blessings on the Prophet: Muslim in his Sahih, at-Tirmidhi in his chapter on this topic, al-Bayhaqi in as-Sunan al-Kubra, and an-Nawawi in the Riyadh as-Salihin. Here are the main announcements, with their grades of authenticity as the collections give them.

📖 2 min readThe Prophet said: "Whoever sends one blessing upon me, Allah sends ten blessings upon him."
Muslim in his Sahih (408); at-Tirmidhi (485): "hasan sahih"
al-Hakim reports a version adding the erasure of wrongs: "...Allah sends ten blessings upon him and erases ten of his wrongs", and he grades it "of authentic isnad" (al-Mustadrak, 2018). at-Tirmidhi also reports: "...and records ten good deeds for him." al-Bayhaqi transmits it for Friday specifically: "Multiply blessings upon me on the day of Friday and its night; whoever sends one blessing upon me, Allah sends ten upon him" (as-Sunan al-Kubra, 5994).
"The people most worthy of my nearness on the Day of Resurrection are those who sent the most blessings upon me."

The nearness (waliyy) here is one of honor and rank, not lineage: the path of access to the Prophet on Judgment Day is sending blessings on him, open to every member of his community.
"The miserly one (bakhil) is he before whom I am mentioned without him sending blessings upon me."

The Prophet also said: "May the man's nose be rubbed in dust, he before whom I am mentioned without him sending blessings upon me" (at-Tirmidhi, graded "hasan"; Riyadh as-Salihin, 1400): an Arabic expression marking the great harm one inflicts on oneself. al-Hakim reports the same meaning with an isnad he grades authentic (al-Mustadrak, 2015).
"Among your best days is the day of Friday: in it Adam was created, in it he died, in it are the Blowing and the Thunderclap. So multiply blessings upon me on that day, for your blessings are presented to me." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, how will they be presented to you after you have decayed?" He said: "Indeed Allah has forbidden the earth from consuming the bodies of the prophets."

al-Bayhaqi also transmits: "...the one of you who sends the most blessings upon me will be the closest to me in rank", honestly noting that the various chains of this statement contain weakness in some isnads but that together they suffice to establish it (as-Sunan al-Kubra, 5995).
"No one greets me (saying as-salamu alayka) except that Allah returns my spirit to me so that I return his greeting."

And he said, per Abu Dawud (authentic isnad, Riyadh as-Salihin 1401): "Do not make my grave a place of festivity, and send blessings upon me: your blessings reach me wherever you are." Sending blessings on him requires neither proximity to his grave nor a specific date: it reaches him from everywhere.
A widely circulated hadith announces: "Whoever forgets to send blessings on me misses the path to Paradise." It is reported by Ibn Majah (908), by an-Nasa'i in as-Sunan al-Kubra (19177) and by Ibn Abi Shayba and Abd ar-Razzaq in their Musannafs; the hadith specialists graded it weak. We cite it for information: its general meaning (the great harm of neglecting this blessing) agrees with the authentic texts above, but the report itself does not serve as proof.
al-Bayhaqi also reports from the Prophet, through Jibril: "whoever greets you, I greet him; whoever sends blessings upon you, I send blessings upon him" (as-Sunan al-Kubra, 19176): the announced reward is Allah's own blessing upon the servant, that is, a mercy covering him.

The Prophet said: "your blessings reach me wherever you are" (Abu Dawud, authentic isnad): no need to be in Medina nor on a specific date.
The greatest nearness to him on the Day of Resurrection (at-Tirmidhi, 484, hasan gharib) and, for Friday, the highest rank near him per al-Bayhaqi's version (5995).
