The first was said by the Jews. They were more knowledgeable of their language. They were from the children of Israel from the tribe of Levi bin Jacob, then from the descendants of Harun bin Imran, the brother of Moses, may Allah bless them, and Safiyya's mother was Barrah bint. Samawal: She was the wife of Salam ibn Mishkam, the Jew. He then succeeded Kinana ibn Abi al-Haqiq, who are both poets, and Kinana was killed on her behalf on the day of Khaybar. Anas ibn Malik narrated that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, conquered Khaybar and gathered the captives, Dihya ibn Khalifa came to him and said: Give me a slave girl from the captivity. He said: "Go and take a slave girl." So he went and took Safiyya.

Another report states: O Messenger of Allah, she is the lady of Qurayza and al-Nadir. She is only suitable. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said to him: "Take another slave girl from the captivity." And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, took her, selected her, enslaved her, freed her, married her, and swore to her. She was sane among the sane women. Reported by Abu Jaafar, on the authority of Ibn Ishaq, who said: My father Ishaq bin Yasar told me, he said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, conquered Al-Qumous, the fortress of Ibn Abi Al-Haqeeq, Safiyya bint was brought. Hayy, and with her was a cousin of hers. Bilal brought them and passed them to some of the dead Jews. When the one with Safiyya saw them, she frowned and shouted, throwing dirt on her head.

Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said: "Get this devil away from me." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, ordered Safiyya to go behind him. He covered her with his garment, so the people knew that he had chosen her for himself. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said to Bilal when he saw From Judaism he saw: "Oh Bilal, have mercy been removed from you until you pass by two women who were killed?!" Before that, Safiyya saw that a moon fell on her lap, so she mentioned it to her father. He hit her face with a blow that affected it. He said: "Didn't I say: How can you be better than me, when my husband is Muhammad, my father Aaron, and my uncle Musa?!" It was reported to her that they said: We are more honorable to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, than she. We are the wives of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the daughters of his paternal uncle.

Reported by Abd al-Wahhab bin Abi Hibba, on the authority of Thabit, who said: Shamisa or Sumayyah told me, Abd al-Razzaq said: And she is in my book Sumayyah, on the authority of Safiyya bint Huyya, that the Prophet ﷺ performed Hajj. With his wives, when he was on the way, he blessed Safiyya with her camel. She cried, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, came when he was informed of that and began to wipe away her tears with his hand. She began to cry even more as he forbade her. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, descended with the people. When he was at Al-Rawah, he said to Zainab bint Jahsh: "O Zainab, impoverish your sister with a camel?" She was one of the most visible ones. She said, "Am I the poorest of your Jews?" the Prophet ﷺ became angry when he heard that from her.

He did not speak to her until he came to Mecca and spent a few days traveling at Mina until he returned to Medina, Muharram, and Safar. He did not come to her and did not swear to her. She despaired of him. When the month of Rabi' al-Awwal came, he came to her. When she saw his shadow, she said: This is the shadow of a man, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, would not enter upon me! So the Prophet ﷺ entered. When she saw him, she said: O Messenger of Allah, what?
