Talha ibn Ubaydillah

Talha bin Ubaid Allah, on the authority of a man who came to the Prophet ﷺ informed us: Abu Ja`far al-Mubarak ibn al-Mubarak ibn Ahmad ibn Zurayq al-Haddad, the imam of the mosque through Wasit, Abu al-Sa'adat al-Mubarak ibn al-Husayn ibn Abd al-Wahhab ibn Yaghouba al-Muqri informed us, Abu al-Fath Nasr ibn al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Qasim al-Shashi and then al-Samarqandi informed you, so he acknowledged it. Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Mansur ibn Khalaf informed you. Al-Maghribi, Abu Bakr Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Zakaria told us, Abu Saeed bin Al-Arabi told us, Muhammad bin Al-Sabah Al-Zafarani told us, Abdullah bin Nafi' Al-Zubayri and Muhammad bin Idris Al-Shafi'i told us, they said: Malik told us. Talha bin Ubaidullah said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, from the people of Najd, with a hairy head. He heard the sound of his voice and did not understand what he was saying.

Until he approached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he was asking about Islam. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said: "Five prayers a day and a night." He said: Do I have to do anything else? He said: "No, unless you do it voluntarily." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said: "And fasting the month of Ramadan." He said: Is there anything else required? He said: "No, unless you volunteer." And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, mentioned to him: Zakat. He said: Do I have to do anything else? He said: "No, unless you volunteer." So the man turned away and said: "By Allah, I will neither add to this nor take away from it." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said: "He will succeed if he is truthful." Al-Shafi'i said in his hadith and mentioned the story and said: Do I have to do anything else?
