Omar bin Abdul Aziz, on the authority of several of the Companions Omar bin Abdul Aziz, on the authority of several of the Companions, his hadith was narrated by Issa bin Abdullah, on the authority of Muhammad bin Omar bin Ali bin Abi Talib, on the authority of Yazid bin Omar bin Mawriq, who said: I was in the Levant and Omar bin Abdul Aziz was giving gifts to people, so I came and he said to me: Who are you from? I said: From Quraysh. He said: From which Quraysh? I said: From Banu Hashim. He said: From which Banu Hashim? I said: Mawla Ali bin Abi Talib. He remained silent - he said: Then he put his hand on his chest and said: I am the servant of Ali bin Abi Talib. Then he said: Several people told me that they heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying: "Whoever I am his master, then Ali is his master." Then he said: Oh Muzahim, how much do you give people like him? He said: One or two hundred dirhams.

He said: Give him sixty dinars for his guardianship of Ali bin Abi Talib. Then he said: Go to your country, and you will receive the same as your counterparts. Narrated by Ibn Mandah and Abu Naim.
