Biography of Zaynab bint Jahsh
Zainab bint Jahsh, wife of the Prophet ﷺ sister of Abdullah bin Jahsh. She is a descendant of Asad ibn Khuzaymah. Her mother is Umaima bint Abdul Muttalib, the paternal aunt of the Prophet ﷺ. Her lineage was mentioned when her brother was mentioned, and her nickname was Umm al-Hakam. She was old to Islam and one of the emigrants. She had been married to Zaid bin Haritha, the servant of the Prophet ﷺ. He married her to teach her the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger. Then Allah Almighty married her to the Prophet ﷺ from heaven, and Allah Almighty revealed, Keep your wife, and fear Allah, and hide within yourself what Allah will reveal, and fear the people, and Allah is more worthy that you should fear him. When Zaid finished it off, We have given her in marriage to you. Verse.
So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, married her in the year three of the Hijra, according to Abu Ubaida. Qatada said: Year five. Ibn Ishaq said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, married her after Umm Salamah. Reported by Abdul Wahhab bin Hibatullah, on the authority of Anas, who said: When the waiting period of Zainab bint Jahsh had passed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said to Zaid bin Haritha: "Go and remind me of her." Zaid said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said that to me, it became great in my eyes, so I went to her, with my back to the door, and said: O Zainab, did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, send me to remind you? She said: I would not do anything until I commanded my Lord. So she stood up to her mosque, and Allah revealed this verse: "And when Zayd had finished with her, We made her in marriage to her." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited her without permission.
Reported by Abu Muhammad Abdullah bin Ali bin Suwaydah, on the authority of Ali bin Ahmed, who said: Abu Abd al-Rahman Muhammad bin Abd al-Aziz al-Faqih told us, Muhammad bin al-Fadl bin Muhammad told us. Al-Sulami, my father told us, Abu Ahmad Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab told us, Al-Hussein bin Al-Walid told us, on the authority of Issa bin Tahman, on the authority of Anas bin Malik, he said: "Zainab bint Jahsh used to be proud of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ and say: Allah married me from heaven. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, treated her with bread and meat, and Zainab was very charitable and charitable. When she came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, her name was Barrah, so he named her Zainab, and the hypocrites spoke about that and said: Muhammad forbade the marriage of children's wives. He married the wife of his son Zaid, because he was known as Zaid bin Muhammad.
Allah Almighty said: "Muhammad was not a father." One of your men," and he said: "Call them by their fathers, that is fairer in the sight of Allah." So his name was Zaid bin Haritha. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, abandoned her and became angry with her when she said to Safiyya bint Huyya: That is a Jew. So he abandoned her during Dhul-Hijjah, Muharram, and some of Safar, and returned to what he had been; according to another report, The one who said that to her was Hafsa. Aisha said: None of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ surpassed me in good standing with him except Zainab bint Jahsh. She used to be proud of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ and say: Your fathers married you, and Allah granted him to me. Because of her, the veil was revealed. "And she was a woman who was a handicraftsman. She worked with her hands and gave alms for the sake of Allah.
Reported by " Abu al-Fadl ibn Abi al-Hasan al-Faqih, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, who said: "This, then the appearance of the mat."
