Definition of Grime / Filth

Allah says: 'Then let them end their state of consecration (tafathahum)' (Al-Hajj: 29).

That is: let them remove the dirt accumulated during ihrâm.

Al-tafath refers to the state of bodily neglect: uncut hair, untrimmed nails, dust from travel.

The pilgrim ends it after the rites.
