Definition of Sigh / Groan

Allah says: 'They will have therein a groaning (zafîr)' (Al-Anbiyâ': 100).

Al-zafîr: groaning, painful breath.

Hell's damned groan in their eternal torment.

As for those who were [destined to be] wretched, they will be in the Fire. For them therein is [violent] exhaling and inhaling.

For them therein is heavy sighing, and they therein will not hear.

﴿إِذَا رَأَتْهُم مِّن مَّكَانٍۭ بَعِيدٍ سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا تَغَيُّظًا وَزَفِيرًا
When the Hellfire sees them from a distant place, they will hear its fury and roaring.
