Al-ḥsd according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

Wishing the departure of the envied one's blessing so that it pass to the envier.

Al-ḥsd according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

Wishing the envied one's blessing to depart to the envier.

Al-ḥsd according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

Hasada a man hasadan: to wish that his blessing turn to oneself or be taken from him. One says: 'he envied him his blessing', or 'envied it upon him'. In the Quran: 'Or do they envy the people for what God has given them of His bounty?' (al-Nisa', 54). The Arabs say: 'May God envy me (hasadani Allah) if I envy you', meaning: may God punish me for my envy of you. Ahsadahu: he found him envious.
