It is said: an akhram man, and he is the one whose nasal septum or the tip of his nose has been cut, without reaching total amputation, and the septum is the partition between the nostrils. The akhram is also the one with a pierced ear, and its hole has torn, meaning it split. (Al-Nazm al-Mustadhub 237/2). Al-Khazz: Ibn al-Athir and others said: It is the name of an animal, then the term was applied to the garment made from its down, and the plural is khuzuz on the measure of fulus. Al-Mundhiri said: Its origin is from the rabbit's down, and its male is called al-khuzz. Al-Zarqani said: What is meant is that whose warp is silk and its weft is wool for example, and it was said: It is a type of silk garments. Ibn al-Athir said: Al-khazz known initially are garments woven from wool and silk, and they are permissible, the Companions and the Successors wore them, so the prohibition regarding them is for the sake of imitating non-Arabs and the attire of the extravagant. If al-khazz is intended to mean the other type, which is the one known today, then it is forbidden for men, because it is entirely made of silk.
