Al-mkhabra according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

The sharecropping of land for the third or the quarter.

Al-mkhabra according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

The sharecropping of land for the third or the quarter, for example: for a portion of the yield. It is a Medinan usage for the mu za ra'a, as will be learnt therein, if Allah the Most High wills.

Al-mkhabra according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

Language: derived from khabir on the pattern of 'alim: the sharecropping. It is the mu za ra'a of the khibr, that is, of the aka r, for the working of the khibar, which are the arable lands. It is that the owner give the farmer land to cultivate for a part of what comes out of it: the third or the quarter. In the hadith: he forbade the mukha bara.

Al-mkhabra according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

Joint study. That the owner give the farmer land to cultivate for a part of what comes out of it. In the noble hadith the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the mukha bara. According to Zayd ibn Thabit: to take the land for the half of what comes out of it, or its third, or its quarter. With the Malikis, the Hanafis, the Shafi'is and the Hanbalis: it is the mu za ra'a. One view of the Shafi'is: the mu za ra'a is the working of the land for a part of what comes out of it, the seed being from the owner; the mukha bara likewise, but the seed is from the worker.
