Definition Al-mzdwj

Al-mzdwj according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

It is when the speaker, after attending to rhymed prose, combines in the middle of parallel clauses two terms similar in meter and rhyme, as in His statement ta ala: {And I have come to you from Saba with a certain news} and His statement, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: "The believers are gentle and soft".

Al-mzdwj according to Maqalid al-'Ulum (As-Suyuti)

That in which one of the two homonyms immediately follows the other.

Al-mzdwj according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)
