Purifying the deed from the dregs of corruption.
Commanding good and forbidding wrong. 'Al-irshad' is synonymous with 'al-nasih' and with commanding good and forbidding wrong, except that some jurists became accustomed to using 'commanding good and forbidding wrong' for what is agreed upon in obligation or prohibition; as for what is disputed, usage settled upon calling it 'irshad'. On this: 'the religion is sincere counsel (nasiha) toward Allah, His Messenger, His Book, the imams of the Muslims, and their common folk'.
Purifying the deed from the dregs of corruption (al-Ta'rifat p. 261); it is also said: nasih is seeking a word or deed bearing its author's good.
