Definition Al-qbr

Al-qbr according to Al-Kulliyat (Al-Kafawi)

That in which the dead are buried; qabr is the singular of qubur; the maqbara, with fatha or damma of the ba', singular of maqabir.

Al-qbr according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

That in which the dead is buried. In the collection of narrations of the Jami' al-Saghir al-Khani: water is sprinkled on the grave so that the earth not scatter in the wind.

Al-qbr according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

Man's grave; plural qubur. The maqbar and maqbara (with shadda of the ba'): the site of the qabr. 'To bury the dead' qabrah qabran: inter him in the grave; 'aqbataruhu': prepare a grave for him to be buried in; 'aqbara the people before them': provide them one to bury in. In poetry is found the maqbar (with damma of the ba'): 'Every people has a maqbar of its favors; they wane, and the graves grow' (al-Ifsah fi fiqh al-Lugha, 1/657; al-Mu'jam al-Wasit, art. qabr, 2/737; Anis al-Fuqaha, p. 125).
