In language: a verbal noun from qarana meaning to join; as when one ties two camels with one rope, that is, joins them; 'qaranta al-shay' bi-l-shay'': I linked it; 'qaranta al-asara fi al-hibal': I bound the captives. In juristic usage: the combining of the 'umra and the hajj with one ihram in one journey, thus in al-Ikhtiyar. Or: that one assume ihram for hajj and 'umra from the miqat, or assume ihram for the 'umra, then the hajj enters upon it thereafter, according to the school.
