Definition Al-rataq

Al-rataq according to Al-Kulliyat (Al-Kafawi)

With fatha of the ta': occlusion of the womb by a bone or the like; the ratqa' woman is she whom her husband cannot reach.

Al-rataq according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

With fatha of the ra' and the ta'. In language: the opposite of al-fatq (perforation); one says rataqa al-fatq, artaqahu, and irtataqa, that is, complete closing. It is a masdar; one says of a woman: rataqat (with kasra of the ta') tartuqu ratan: when her vulva closed up. Ar-ratq: the union of a thing and its joining together. The ratqa' woman is she whom her husband cannot reach, cannot have intercourse with, and who has no opening that may be pierced except the urethra alone. Ar-ratq: adhesion and joining together, whether congenital or not; the ratqa' is the slave girl whose two labia are joined. Ar-ratq also: the blocking, at the vulva, of the entry to the male organ.

Al-rataq according to At-Ta'rifat al-Fiqhiyya (Al-Barkati)

It is when a fleshy or membranous excess appears over the mouth of a woman's vulva, preventing intercourse; the woman ratqa' bayyina ar-ratq (evidently occluded) is she who has no opening other than the urethra.
