Al-tkrar according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

Al-tkrar according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

Bringing a thing one time after another.

Al-tkrar according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

With fatha of the ta; one says: 'karrartuhu takriran wa-takaran': when one does it again one time after another; it is a verbal noun from 'takrir', the verbal noun of 'karrara', which is bringing the thing one time after another. Abu al-Baqa' expressed it: the repetition of a thing, in deed or word; he said: its explanation as the mention of a thing one time after another is a technical usage. [al-Kulliyyat p. 268, Tahrir al-Tanbih p. 47, al-Mawsu'a al-fiqhiyya 13/224].

Al-tkrar according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

Bringing the thing one time after another, as Ibn al-Kammal mentioned (al-Ta'rifat p. 68). In al-Misbah (al-Misbah al-munir p. 202): 'the takrir of a thing is its repetition many times; its name is al-takrar'; it resembles generality in multiplicity and differs from it in that, in generality, the judgment multiplies by the multiplicity of the individuals of the condition, whereas in repetition the judgment multiplies by the multiplicity of the attribute pertaining to the individuals.

Al-tkrar according to Mu'jam Lughat al-Fuqaha

With fatha of the ta then kasra, verbal noun of 'karrara': bringing the thing one time after another = repetition; Eng.: Repetition. 'Al-takrima': verbal noun of 'karrama': veneration and respect.
