Definition Al-tkrma

Al-tkrma according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

With light ta and heavy ra: the bedding (firash) and the like, what is spread for the master of the house and reserved for him apart from his household; it has been said: it is the cushion; in its sense: the couch and the like. Al-Fayyumi said: this explanation (the cushion) is an instance of everything prepared for the master of the house alone, in his honor, excluding the rest of the household (al-Misbah al-Munir, root karam, p. 203; Nil al-Awtar 3/158).

Al-tkrma according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

The cushion on which the man sits; it is the instance of everything prepared for the master of the house alone, in his honor, excluding the rest of the household.

Al-tkrma according to At-Ta'rifat al-Fiqhiyya (Al-Barkati)

The cushion; or it is the tent's seat of honor, the spot adorned and prepared for sitting; from it comes the hadith: "Whoever visits a people must not sit upon their takruma".
