Al-tṭfyf according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

Deflation and shortfall in measuring and weighing: it is failing to give full measure and weight. The Qur'an explains its meaning: 'Woe to the defrauders (al-mutaffifin), who, when they take by measure from people, take it in full, but when they measure for them or weigh for them, they give short.'
