Definition Ana

Ana according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

'Anu': he submitted, was humbled; in the Qur'an: 'faces are humbled ('anat) before the Living, the Ever-Enduring, and wretched is he who bears injustice' (Taha, 111), that is, they submitted. He became a captive. Being commanded: to comply. Taking a thing 'anwatan (by force): taking it forcibly; or taking it peacefully: it is among the contronyms. Al-'ani: the abased one; one says: a people 'anat, women 'awan. The captive; in the noble hadith: 'feed the hungry, visit the sick, free the captive ('ani).' Al-'anwa: abasement. Subjugation. Peace; it is among the contronyms.
