Definition Asm al-mafʿuwl

Asm al-mafʿuwl according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

That is, the passive participle due to the omission of the preposition and the concealment of the pronoun, otherwise the object is the action itself. According to the grammarians, it is a noun derived from the action, established to designate that upon which the action occurred.

Asm al-mafʿuwl according to Maqalid al-'Ulum (As-Suyuti)

That which is derived from a verb to designate the one or thing upon which that action occurred.

Asm al-mafʿuwl according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

That which is derived from the present verb to designate the one or thing upon which the action occurred.
