Definition Bashr

Bashr according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

His wife 'mubasharatan': to have intercourse with her; 'basharan': to touch her skin with his skin, that is, to know her. In the Qur'an: 'do not touch them (tu-bashiruhunna) while you are in retreat in the mosques' (al-Baqara, 187). The matter: to take it up oneself. The act: to do it without intermediary. A thing directly against a thing: to make it adhere to it. In the noble hadith: 'O God, I ask You for faith with which my heart will be in contact (tabashsharu bi-ha qalbi).'
