Karam according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

Of the thing: karama, karam, karama: soul and dignity. Of man: avarice’s contrary; he karim; plural kiram, karama; she karima, women kara’im. So-and-so: overcoming in generosity. So-and-so: magnifying, ennobling. At-takrima: the bed and like, spread for the guest and specified; in the noble hadith: « sit not on the takrima in his house save by his leave ». At-takrim: favoring. Al-karama: verbal noun. In al-Jourjani’s word: an extraordinary matter’s appearing from one claiming no prophethood; what is not joined to faith and good work is enticement; what joined to prophethood’s claim is miracle. Al-karm: the vine. The necklace; said: I saw on her neck a fine pearl necklace. Al-karam: abundance of good. Al-karim: the generous. The precious. The noble. Among Allah’s names. Al-karima: karim’s feminine. Of man: his daughter; plural kara’im.
