Definition Kayd

Kayd according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

A will harming another covertly; of character: the evil ruse; and of Allah: governing by truth to requite creation’s deeds.

Kayd according to Mufradat (Ar-Raghib)

Stronger than al-makr; the proof: it transitives itself and makr by a letter, and what transitives itself stronger.

Kayd according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

A will harming another, really (khafiya came in al-Jourjani’s Ta’rifat; what we established by all manuscripts), of manners: the evil ruse; of Allah: governing by truth requiting creation’s deeds. Ar-Raghib said: al-kayd is a kind of trick, praiseworthy or blameworthy, its blameworthy use more common; likewise at-tasdiraj and al-makr.
