Khashya according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

The heart’s paining by expecting a dreaded thing in the future, sometimes by the servant’s many offences, sometimes knowing Allah’s majesty and awe. The prophets’ khashya is of this kind.

Khashya according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

From khashiya yakhsha, khashya, khachya and khacha: coming in fear’s sense; Ibn ’Abbas said of His word: « only of His servants fear Allah the learned ».
