Definition Mubtadi

Mubtadi according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

Passive name: what is not preceded by matter nor duration. Active name: he from whom issues what reaches not its end.

Mubtadi according to At-Ta'rifat al-Fiqhiyya (Al-Barkati)

He is the author of an innovation, a belief contrary to what is known of the Messenger, not out of defiance but by a kind of doubt.

Mubtadi according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

Active name. Among the Hanafis: he who believes a thing contrary to the people of the Sounna and community’s belief. Al-badan: what remains of the body besides head and limbs; plural abdan. The body; in the noble Quran: « today We save your body to be a sign for those after you » (Younous 92), that is, your corpse. The coat of mail. In ghusl among the Hanafis: it falls on outward and inward, save what water cannot reach or hardly. Al-abdan: plural of badan.
